Rémy Sohier · Background
Background.
Artistic practice, research and collective work.
I am an Associate Professor at Université Paris 8, working in Arts et Technologies de l’Image and the INREV research team. My background combines experimental video games, artistic collectives, teaching and research on digital images.
01 / BIOGRAPHY
Different practices, shared questions.
My early work explored how video games can express a personal experience and create collective situations. This practice developed through my doctoral research and the Alineaire collective.
Research on Edmond Couchot subsequently opened a historical and theoretical inquiry into digital art. My current work focuses on the technical and organisational conditions of image production in animation, visual effects and video games.
These activities belong to different contexts and periods. The timeline preserves their specific purposes alongside their connections.
